Snowflake Secure Data Sharing

SINAI uses Snowflake as its primary data warehouse platform. Customers that also use Snowflake internally can take advantage of Secure Data Sharing to easily integrate their GHG data within the SINAI platform into their corporate Business Intelligence (BI) workflow.

How does Secure Data Sharing work?

With Secure Data Sharing, no copying or transferring of actual data occurs between accounts. All sharing uses Snowflake’s services. Because no data is copied or exchanged, Secure Data Sharing setup is quick and easy access to the imported data is near-instantaneous for customers:

SINAI creates a share of our BI database and grants access to your specific datasets in the database.
On the consumer side, a read-only database is created from the share. Access to this database is configurable using the same, standard role-based access control that Snowflake provides for all objects in the system.

With this architecture, Snowflake enables SINAI to share data directly and safely with our customers, and our customers can quickly incorporate their GHG data in the SINAI platform into their BI ecosystem:

Data exchanges through Secure Data Sharing often have very low IT friction since Snowflake has already been vetted and integrated into your organization's IT environment.

Your data sets can be shared within our default Snowflake Region at US East (N. Virginia) or replicated to your region of choice for an additional cost.
