Workiva Integration

Overview: SINAI + Workiva Integration

The SINAI platform connects directly to your Workiva workspace using our secure API.

The integration between SINAI and Workiva is designed to streamline ESG and climate-related data transfer, reporting, and assurance workflows, primarily by automating and structuring emissions inventory data flow between platforms.

Architecture and Flow

  1. Data Capture in SINAI

SINAI serves as the system of record for GHG emissions data. Users input activity data, select emission factors, and calculate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions using methodologies aligned with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064 standards.
  2. Structured Emissions Data Export

From SINAI, emissions data (e.g., tons CO₂e by scope, business unit, and reporting period) is made available in a structured format via our API. The data organized to mirror Workiva’s ESG reporting templates or taxonomy.
  3. Workiva Import Process

Workiva accepts these structured datasets either via manual import or automated data connectors (e.g., Workiva Chains). SINAI has ready-to-use Wdata Chain and Spreadsheet templates compatible with Workiva’s table structures and metadata tagging system, enabling seamless mapping to ESG reports, SEC filings, or CDP responses.
  4. Mapping to Reporting Frameworks

Within Workiva, users map SINAI data to disclosure frameworks like:
  • TCFD
  • CDP
  • ISSB / IFRS S2
  • California Climate Regulations
  1. Update & Refresh Cycles

Workiva’s platform supports scheduled refreshes or manual updates. If emissions data changes in SINAI due to re-baselining, updated activity data, or adjustments to emission factors, a new export can be generated and re-ingested into Workiva, triggering downstream updates where linked.

The SINAI Workiva integration template maintains data synchronized across platforms on a daily basis.
